Confidence..

This past quarter, in one of my classes I had to do a 5 minutes presentation on confidence.
Confidence is such a beautiful power.
Somewhere in my presentation, I brought up the constant need to look like a celebrity.
I also then showed some wonderful pictures of the reality of celebrities.

The fact that anyone tries so hard to pretend that they are perfect just blows my mind.
Many girls post pictures looking like they spent 2 hours getting ready with a caption that said..
”Just woke up don’t mind that I look so ugly!!!!”
Or when girls post “NO MAKEUP!!!”
..And clearly they have a ton of makeup on.
Oh when girls post a picture and they look like they’re in the middle of a contest to see how long they can hold their breath.. usually the picture is a full length shot and they’re awkwardly bending and their sholders are all tense.. This is where they post a caption like..
”UGH I’M SO FAT!!”
or
”Lost 20 pounds in 2 days #nbd #proana”

Get real.
When I wake up, my hair look like I was in a tornado..
And if I’m wearing no makeup, I look like I’m 12.
I have posted pictures with no makeup. I really don’t look much different..
My eyes just look bigger and somehow I look younger.
And trying to look skinnier than your are in a picture is a joke..
Don’t people see you in real life?
I’m not perfect.. but I love who I am.
I don’t need to fake how I look to be happy.

  3. Well you did a blog post the other day & stated that you looked thick... when you didn't or else you wouldn't of posted it. so I think as women we can be guilty of fishing for compliments, even yourself.

    1. I did NOT say I looked thick. I said how the picture looked when I put it in the post I looked "THICKER" than what I am. I am fully confident with who I am and the body I have. I'm a size 0. I hate that I have to tip toe around people when I'm pigging out and call myself a fatty. Don't give me any compliments, I don't need them. I used to be a size 7 sweetie, I'm a 0.. pretty damn sure that if I was happy at a 7 I'm very very VERY confident with what I look like now. I am not a girl who is ashamed of what I look, no matter what time of day it is.

  5. now, now, play nice lady. though I do fully agree with this, i've seen on more occasion you state how fat you are, or how thick you look when really you have a gorgeous body and shouldn't say such negative things about yourself!

    1. I'm either too cocky or too negative.. lol people read way too into what I say. I'm a size 0, I'm not fat. People freak out when I say I have thunder thighs.. because I never thought that thunder thighs were a bad thing, I always thought it was having sexy very toned legs. People also jump down my throat when I say that I'm a fatty. I just assumed that people can look at me and see that I'm not fat. I however eat more than my 6 foot something almost 200 pound boyfriend.. I guess people should of known me when I was a size 7 and never once complained about being "fat" or trying to lose weight. But now if I mention that I care about my health people are like "OH MY GOD YOU'RE SKINNY JUST STOP"..

  6. I agree completely, people that know you obviously know you don't look like you do if you're constantly posting photos like that or the classic "Perfectly angled so as not to see anything other than the face" photo!

  7. i think with social media these days it is so much easier for people to show this perfected version of themselves. honestly, sometimes i go on my facebook and think to myself, wow, i am so untogether! my friends seem to have it figure all out! i just have to remind myself that really, of course, some people like to show an ideal version of themselves and their lives because they, like me, are insecure. i just think it would be a lot better if we all just were a bit more honest (in all things, but especially in online media and pictures). it pains me that there are young girls out there who actually think that they are supposed to look like made-up, airbrushed celebrities and models all the time. anyways, interesting post!

  8. I love this post. I hate all those celebrities. And I hate hearing about them and how beautiful and perfect they are when in reality, they are not even attractive. Working in the make up industry i've learned a lot of things. Not even Victorias Secret models are pretty without there make up on. I wish people would be happy in their own skin and realize that the people on tv are not real.
Celebrities are nothing without there make up artists.
